Day 2: Chicago --> St. Louis

We started our day at the Colonial Coffee Shop in Park Ridge, IL and miraculously our toast was pointing us in the right direction!

We then moved on to Naperville to see the newest addition to the Romo/Wilson family, baby Troy James Wilson (TJ!!) born on 9/21/09:

After visiting with the Wilson family we decided we needed nourishment for the road...luckily there was a Portillo's in Naperville! (http://www.portillos.com/portillos/)

We finally arrived in St. Louis and not a minute too soon because we were beginning to think the corn fields between Chicago and St. Louis were never ending...

Famous Road Quotes
:
1. Magda: BURRRRRRPPP!!
Jen: Magda!!! Seriously...
2. Jen saying the hail Mary prayer while Magda was driving...

Notorious Road Signs:
1. Seen in Staunton, IL: "Country View"...this would be a great sign because we were in the "country", but it was most interesting because it was a banner on the side of a Public Storage facility...huh???

Sights Along the Way:
Serena Williams was fined $10, 500 for this outburst....

Hitting an Illinois Highway worker incurs a $10,000 fine and 14 years jail time...

Jen and Magda getting a picture in front of the world's largest covered wagon with Abraham Lincoln driving...PRICELESS!!

Beautiful, wild horses...

Funks Grove "Sirup", what???

Official vehicle of the Lincoln/Logan County Chamber of Commerce

The Great Debate: a "young Abe Lincoln" (so Magda says) or a "young Paul Bunyan" (so Jen thinks?)
